Leigh Barrett,  is a beloved Boston based actor, singer & director. Although she received her Bachelor's degree in Voice Performance, opera emphasis, from Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory in Ohio, she has found her home in musical theatre.

Humble Beginnings:

Her very first stage was her parent's living room and every guest got treated to a show. There were costume changes, guest stars (her little sister Sue), a jump rope microphone, and complicated choreography (the very advanced step touch & turn around) .

From there she joined her church and high school choirs. And although she didn't really know what a "career" in music or acting was, she followed her best friend to Ohio to major in Music Education. Scared off by a middle school choir and shop class (don't ask), she switched her major to Voice Performance (cuz that’s not scary!). After graduation, she was cast in Little Shop of Horrors and she knew she had found her place.

How’d I get here?:

In her extensive career, Leigh has worked with some amazing companies throughout New England- The Lyric Stage Company of Boston, SpeakEasy Stage Company, The Huntington Theatre Company, The Greater Boston Stage Company,The New Repertory Theatre, Reagle Music Theater, Wheelock Family Theatre, Gloucester Stage Company, Central Square Theatre, Moonbox Productions, Bridge Repertory Theater, Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater, and North Shore Music Theatre.

She made her professional directorial debut with New Rep. She is also an independent vocal & acting coach. She currently resides in Reading, where she resides with her husband and two sons. Leigh is a proud recipient 2 Independent Reviewers of New England (I.R.N.E) awards and 3 Elliot Norton Awards for Outstanding Actor as well as the 2018 Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence. Leigh is currently pursuing certification in Meisner in Music as well as certification in,Emotional Regulation for the Artist and Voice Function.
